Let me tell ya, Ashley is one of THE most influential women in my life, in ways she probably doesn’t even realize because it just naturally flows out of her. Ashley is the most hospitable - from literally cleaning my windows during her work hours to offering up her sweet employee to come next door and help me with things completely unrelated to her own business. She has taught me how to be a good neighbor and to recognize the needs of others and to act on them (something I REALLY need constant reminders of!)
The biggest moment that I realized Ashley is one of my biggest inspirations is the way that she leads. The way she teaches. One day I was talking with her employee, Lindsey, and asked how she enjoys working for Ashley!! Lindsey automatically went on and on about how she’s so thankful for Ashley, how Ashley teaches her every single day, how much fun they have together and how Lindsey could be happy working with Ashley for the rest of her life. As I hope to hire this year, I’m learning that the relationship with an employee is probably one of the most crucial aspects of running a business - especially such a personal one. I want to be a boss that teaches, that leads, and respects my employee in the highest regards, and Ashley is one of the ones who succeeds in that. I know running a business has a million and one responsibilities - but Ashley reminds me that leadership is not one to push to the side and lose focus on.
